We didn't
sleep very well last night with the family in
Lat Krabang.
Today we'll be drinking instant coffee again (from a sachet that also contains powdered milk
and sugar).
And we'll have breakfast, with bread that we bought yesterday at
Villa Market in the
Paseo Lat Krabang.
Then, after showering, we'll pack because today we're going to
Hua Hin.
We leave around eleven o'clock, it's Sunday and we don't know whether to expect crowds or
not.
Most of Bangkok's residents have the day off and that might mean a lot of departing traffic,
but we're not very early, hopefully it won't be too bad.
And it isn't too bad, on Thanon
Kanchanaphisek, the outer ring road, it's very quiet and we're at the exit to
Thanon Rama II before we know it.
Thanon Rama II is also very quiet, in contrast to previous years.
Despite the construction of a skytrain, the road is no longer as messy with shifted lanes
and such inconveniences.
Only at Samut Sakhon it gets a bit busier, but the traffic keeps moving.
Thanon Petchkasem is a bit
busier, but here too it keeps moving.
For some reason, the traffic is very slow.
After we pass Phetchaburi, the traffic there also speeds up a bit.
On the way we make a toilet stop and at half past two we arrive at our hotel, the
Royal Pavilion Hua Hin.
The reception is friendly and fast, after all we have already paid in advance, and the room
on the sixth floor is neat.
Tom is hungry for a beer after a 3.5 hour drive, and we walk towards the beach and have a
drink at Chomkluen where we also sat comfortably on the previous trip.
When we sit there, several monkeys pass by.
Then we walk to Sea Side Restaurant Hua-Hin where we have another drink and also eat a Thai
salad, mediocre.
We walk towards the night market and come across the Patio Oldtown Night Market พาทิโอ
โอลด์ทาวน์ where a lot of food is offered.
At the night market itself there is a lot on offer, especially seafood, but we are not
really in the mood for that, large portions, busy, warm.
Back at the Patio Oldtown Night Market พาทิโอ โอลด์ทาวน์ we want to order something but then
loads (4 busses full) of students from Chiang Rai arrive, a huge crowd.
After some searching we find a table and Pia gets something to eat and drink, and it tastes
quite good.

We tell what we have done and experienced during a trip and we also tell what we think about it; no more and no less.
This is not a travel guide, nor is it advice to visit a place or not.
There are other sites for that.
Our opinion about places where we have eaten, drunk or slept is not intended as a (positive or negative) assessment,
there are other sites for that.
It is our view of the situation at a certain moment and that view is influenced by our mood,
the weather and many other factors.
